Pro-Life Family Days at the Capitol
Tallahassee, FL

On March 13th and 14th, RSG instructor, students, and interns assembled together with over 240 conservatives and believers for Pro-Family Lobbying Days. The two-day event was hosted by Florida Family Policy Council. It consisted of a prayer breakfast, briefing on important bills, and training on lobbying at the Capitol. Distinguished guests included Governor Rick Scott, Senator Dennis Baxley, House of Representatives Speaker Richard Corcoran, and President/CEO of Florida Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission Bill Bunkley, among other elected officials and Christian leaders. RSG was privileged to hear the powerful testimonies of present-day champions of the faith-- florist Barronelle Stutzman and ex-lesbian activist Charlene Cothran.

Attendees visited dozens of legislative offices where they discussed various issues such as pregnancy support services, gambling expansion prevention, and Florida’s competitive workforce act. Many also had the opportunity to pray with elected officials and their staff/interns.

The trip concluded with a great victory. During committee hearings, both the House and Senate voted in favor of a bill that will reinstate and protect prayer in Florida public schools.

RSG left the event inspired by words of ageless wisdom and encouraged that we shall indeed see another Great Spiritual Awakening in America.
